well well well, 3 quarter-final losses to the same manager in 3 major tournaments since 2002. england must be cursing and swearing that lady luck isn't on their side.

& yes penalties. i should have known better that england are suckers at penalty taking. their 3 conversion were all saved by ricardo. it was a nail biting shootout. i was gripped to the edge of my seat and had hands on my head when portugal prevailed.

and was it a moment of madness from sven to bring on carragher in place of lennon instead of another striker. and god, where was theo walcott?! jeez. the youngster didnt even make an appearance at the 18th world cup.

& as of this morning, c.ronaldo is public enemy number one in england. i reckon he's going to get the bad press once he returns to manchester. he'll be most likely sold to real madrid who are keen to sign him.

as for the world cup, im banking on host germany to win it for the fourth time and for the first since 1990. they are peaking at the right time, and have no major injury worries.
i reckon it'll be a germany and france final. one last hurrah for zinedine zidane before he retires!
